Jerry Spencer was born in 1939 and was raised on the Mississippi River in Osceola, Arkansas. He was a high school and college athlete and attended Union University for 3 years and graduated from University of Tennessee (MB).
He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX and has been awarded a number of honorary degrees including a doctorate from Liberty University. He has been actively involved in his denomination - Southern Baptist.
He served on their Executive Committee for 9 years and served as SBC Vice President. He also served as president of both the SBC Pastor's Conference and SBC Conference of Evangelist. Jerry was also inducted into the Southern Baptist Evangelists' "Hall of Faith."
He has been privileged to preach in many outstanding churches such as, First Baptist Dallas, TX; Prestonwood in Dallas; First Baptist Jacksonville, FL; First Baptist Woodstock, GA; Thomas Road Baptist in Lynchburg, VA and many others both large and small.
He has been a frequent speaker in conferences and conventions. He has preached in over 100 Area Crusades in the US and in over 50 Countries and has made more than 50 trips to India.
Dr. Spencer was married to Sue Walker for over 50 years. She went to be with the Lord in 2010. Jerry and Sue had 4 children: Jan Hooper, a housewife in Brownsville, TN; Dolly Ann Ezell, a nursing student in Dothan, AL; Van, who is VP of JSM and resides in Charlotte, NC; and Dan, who is pastor of First Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN.
Jerry has 18 grandchildren and 4 Greats. Jerry is now happily married to the former Shirley Norris Robertson who has two children, Wesley and Rebecca, and two grandchildren. Jerry and Shirley reside in Savannah, TN.

The soul agony and core burden of the JSM Ministry is to see people receive The Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! It is also our calling and determined desire to equip, edify, and encourage Believers in their daily walk with Christ.
We promote the constant control of every Christian by the Lord Jesus as they live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit and consistently read, study, memorize, and meditate on the Word of God and order their life according to the teachings of this inspired Book called the Bible!
Through every facet of our ministry we endeavor to follow God's leading by faith! In America, Dr. Spencer conducts evangelistic meetings, revivals, mission conferences, senior adult rallies and special outreach events.
Overseas, our main ministries include - Pastor and Leadership Conferences, Women's Conferences, feeding programs, street witnessing, speaking in prisons, schools, businesses, market places, and churches, area crusades in open air venues, musical concerts in public squares and soccer stadiums, door to door witnessing, and literature and Bible distribution!
We are actively involved in education and medical care as we are deeply involved with a state of the art hospital in India. We work alongside a Bible College and Seminary that we helped to establish in India. We support hundreds of orphans and are presently establishing a school and orphanage in Ethiopia.

We own a large printing operation in Ethiopia and support Source of Light, Child Evangelism and various other ministries with our printing press.
We support field evangelists in several countries and spend much of our time, energy, and resources in training pastors and evangelists. We welcome participation of sincere, dedicated, spiritually qualified individuals and groups as we regularly take short term mission teams to various countries for special ministry and outreach projects.
We are a ministry who lives and functions by faith. We depend upon God as our supply and constantly rejoice over the generous financial support of loving individuals, groups, and churches. Because of daily needs, we prayerfully encourage financial contributions from individuals, groups, and churches willing to invest in our eternally, significant world outreach!
