Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?

1.  Who are the persons involved in the Great Commission!  Matt. 28: 18-20

(1.)  Jesus – Our Lord sends us out

(2.)  You – You are commissioned to go

(3.)  The Lost – “All nations”, “Every creature”  Mark 16:15

Who are the lost?  Rom. 3:23; John 3:18; Eph. 2:1

2.  What is witnessing?  Sharing the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit.  (Sharing the Gospel clearly.)  Rom. 1;16  Trust the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, leaving the saving to God.  Acts 1:8; Acts 16:13; Rom. 10:9-15

Our responsibility is simply to communicate the truth of the Gospel.

3.  When should we witness?  We only have today!  2 Tim. 4:1-5; Acts 20:31; John 4:35 “The fields are white…; Acts 4:20; 2 Cor. 6:2

4.  Where should we witness?  Mark 16:15 “All the world…” Beginning in Jerusalem; Acts 1:8; Acts 16 Paul and his fellow witnesses went where the Spirit lead them-- to Philippi, to a woman named Lydia, to a demon possessed girl, to a jailor…John 4 the woman at the well went to her village and shared.  (Bloom where you’re planted)

5.  Why must we witness?

          (1.)  Our Lord said so.  Matt. 28:18-10; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:17-20

          (2.)  The lost must hear.  Rom. 10:14; 2 Thess. 1:8; Rev. 20:15

(3.)  The witness, the saved, and Heaven all rejoice over one sinner that gets saved.  Luke 15:7, 10, 23-24

6.  How do we become a witness for Christ?

(1.)  Make a willful decision to obey Christ’s great commission.

(2.)  Begin to think about the plight of the lost.

(3.)  Pray for the filling of the Holy Spirit – Eph. 5:18

(4.)  Ask your friends to pray for you to be a bold witness – Acts 4:29-31

(5.)  Pray for God to baptize you with compassion for the lost.

(6.)  Pray that God will stamp eternity on your eyes so you see all people

                 either saved or lost forever.

(7.)  Ask your pastor or someone who’s witnessing to take you with them

when they go out sharing the Gospel.

          (8.)  JUST DO IT!

                 JUST SHARE JESUS!

                 JUST WITNESS NOW!

Some suggestions for continuing to witness or getting started:

(1.)  Start a prayer list.  Write down the names of those you would like to see saved and pray for them often.

(2.)  Rethink your own conversion experience and write out your testimony: (make sure you are truly saved)

(3.)  You may want to use one of several ways proven to be successful in witnessing:

                    A.  Use a Gospel tract that gives the plan of salvation.

                              (a) Roman Road

                              (b)  4 spiritual laws (be sure to include repentance of sin)

                              (c)  F.A.I.T.H.

                              (d)  Steps to peace with God (Billy Graham)

B.  Use a Bible or New Testament marked so that you can easily use it

                         in presenting the Gospel.

                    C.  Memorize a good Gospel presentation:

May God bless you with a lifetime of seeing people come to Christ through your faithful witness.  You will rejoice, the lost will be saved, and our Lord will be glorified.
